My great grandmother, Emily (MILLS) RICHARDSON (1849-1933), is buried at Ladywell Cemetery in Forest Hill, Southeast London. She is said to be at grave number 2211aA. I wish I could get a photograph of her gravesite, however, I did find this link to some photographs of the cemetery.

Hi
I’m not sure if I’ve messaged you before, but I could try and take a photo if you know where it is in the cemetery? I’m a founding member of the (new) Friends of Brockley and Ladywell Cemetery.
Let me know if you want me to look for you.
Polly
Polly – I would be so thrilled if I could get a photograph, however all I know is that she died in 1933 and is buried at grave number 2211aA. Thank you so very much for your interest.
That’s ok … will be a couple of weeks as I’m still recovering from pneumonia at the moment but I’ll get a map and find it for you
Can you email me the details to polstarphotography@gmail.com
thanks
P
Hi Neddy
I came across your website by chance i too have my grandmother in Ladywell cemetry, Ladywell Road , Ellen Elizabeth Feaver her grave no A 1943 B .
I would love to get in touch with someone who could take a photo of the plot, i have never seen it.
I am doing my family tree and Ellen has caused me many a headache.
I am going to email Polly to see if she could find it for me.
Your site is brilliant

Hi Neddy,
Just wanted to fill you in on the latest on my Mills family tree research in Australia.
I managed to find lots of information regarding the death of Emily Alice Mills – wife of Allan Mills (8th child of John & Mary Ann Mills), who came out to Australia with his brother Alfred John Mills, my great grandfather.
I found that Emily did suicide in the Yarra river after her only daughter had died six months earlier. I have a copy of the inquest into her death with statements by her sister and Allan. I also have a list of her and Allans other children.
I also have the other 5 children of Emma and Alfred Mills which I did not pass on to you last time.
Anyway, just thought you might be interested.
Jenee
Thank you so much Jenee. Does the fact that you name her “Emily Alice Mills” mean that her maiden name was “Mills?” The Mills family seemed to marry cousins a bit so I would not be surprised.
I have an Alfred MILLS and a John MILLS as children of John & Mary Ann. Do you suppose they are the same person, as I notice your great grandfather is “Alfred John MILLS.” I did not think they were one person.
Yes, I would be most interested in the additional details of this family and thank you for continuing the research.
My grandmother was buried in Ladywell Cemetery early march 1935, her name was Marion Janet Bennett, is it possible to be given her grave number or some identification of it.
For any information would be grateful.
Regards
Fred Bennett
Hi Neddy
Three years ago I tried to find my great-grandfather’s grave in ‘Ladywell cemetery’ -but unfortunately it was all very ‘over-grown’- so I had to give up. I am hoping to visit there again in July – (from W Australia) and am wondering if someone can help me find the right location. Great-grandad was
George BRYAN bur 20/7/1912 -Plot 1875c. (84yrs)
Also I would like to know the location there of my grandmother -
Clara Louisa BRYAN bur 8/2/1924 (48yrs) -Plot D -grave 3274.
I realise they may be in ‘paupers graves’ and would like to bring over a ‘stainless steel plaque’ (on a plastic stake) – a memorial for each of them. Do you think this will acceptable? Regards – Valerie (W Australia)
